Our Dublin production team read an article about Irish supermodel Vivienne Connolly's recent move into acting and they decided to try to contact her. Might she be interested in auditioning for a small part in IWW?
It was the type of "Hail Mary" that indie filmmakers send out to stars and celebs all the time, asking for their involvement. Usually, there's never a response.
Turns out, she was interested and after a brilliant audition she had the part.
We woke up yesterday (the day of her rehearsal) to find an article about her and the film in the Sunday Independent (the biggest circulation Sunday paper in Dublin, or so we were told). Her publicist knows how to do things (though they said we were in Los Angeles -- I guess Oakland isn't glamorous enough).
In rehearsals, she's a real down-to-earth person and an excellent actor. We bonded over our shared love of organic food. We're lucky to have her on the project just as her acting career is taking off.
